I led the engineering team that built the backoffice application used by LCL customer-service agents to operate accounts and automate legal operations.

LCL - Backoffice for L by LCL

I led the engineering team behind the backoffice application for L by LCL, LCL’s digital banking offering.

The users were customer-service agents. The app let them operate on customer accounts and automated a set of legal and regulatory operations that were previously manual, things like saisie sur comptes (account garnishment) and handling huissiers (bailiff) claims, plus the legal reportings tied to them.

What I did

  • Wrote the first line of the codebase and grew it from there
  • Led a team of 4 developers at its peak
  • Owned the scope end-to-end with the customer-service teams as my clients
  • Stayed on the project for 1 year and 3 months

Tech

  • Frontend: React
  • Backend: Fastify on Node.js, with Kafka for event streaming and SSE to push live updates to the agents’ screens
  • Infra: Kubernetes (as a consumer of the platform team’s cluster, not running DevOps myself)

Outcome

When I left, the application had 15 daily users operating on more than 20,000 accounts.
